Site Weather

Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch 2019

Each fall, thousands of hawks, eagles, and falcons migrate over the Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch site, which is located at Audubon Center in Greenwich at our Main Sanctuary property. Quaker Ridge is one of the highest points in Greenwich and is an excellent vantage point for spotting raptors coming from the north. The migration peaks often occur in mid-September on days when the winds are from the north. Sometimes hawk watchers spot several thousand Broad-winged Hawks in a single day.

Directions

Take the Merritt Parkway to Round Hill Road (Exit 28) and proceed north. After about 1.6 miles (look for a church), turn left onto John St. Proceed about 1.1 miles. The entrance to the Audubon Center is on the right at the intersection of John St. and Riversville Rd. Ample parking is to be found on your right a short distance in, with the watch on the lawn to the left.
