Ashland Hawk Count Fall 2018
The Ashland Hawk Watch (AHW) is a joint project of DOS and DNS. There will be a professional counter counting every raptor that passes over the site from Sept 1 until Dec 1. AHW is part of the HMANA (Hawk Migration Association of North America) network of raptor sites. Please visit hawkwatch.org to see data for this and every other count site.
Directions
Ashland Nature Center is located at 3511 Barley Mill Road,Hockessin, DE 19707. When you arrive, park in the main parking lot and follow directions to the top of the hill, above the lodge.
DOS/DNS Ashland Hawkwatch
The Delaware Ornithological Society (DOS) was founded in 1963 to promote the study of birds, the advancement and diffusion of ornithological knowledge, and the conservation of birds and their environment. In 2021 it is the primary bird club of Delaware. Besides regular field trips and monthly meetings, we oversee 2 hawk watches in Delaware; the Ashland Hawkwatch and the Cape Henlopen Hawkwatch.
